What does your school counselor do?

Helps students in the process of reaching their academic, social and emotional potential.

Works with students individually, in small groups and in the classroom.

Encourages interpersonal relationships.

Helps identify and support the needs of children.

Provides parenting, staff and child consultation.

Coordinates efforts with other school programs, outside counseling professionals and community agencies.

Provides support and consultation to administrators, faculty and families.

Provides support services during crisis intervention.

Promotes a safe school climate in conjunction with staff and administration.

Participates as a member of the school’s Student Centered Team.
